Wave of mutilation

Saw this being put up near Shoreditch High Street not long ago and thought it looked really intriguing – reminded me of Hokusai’s Great Wave (which I think is deliberate, though there’s no longboat, and I don’t think he used pairs of jeans as his medium).

It’s cool and creative, and uses the colour range of Levi’s jeans to create a moody picture on a busy road junction. If ever there’s a way to sell such big label jeans to the Shoreditch crowd then it’s with alternative outdoor advertising like this.

Unfortunately, the billboard was only present for about a week, for reasons unknown. Perhaps the opportunity for free denim was too great?
