How’s this for opportunism?
Personally, I think there’s a good reason Woolworth’s went down the pan, and that’s essentially because they’ve been peddling rubbish that no one really wants for years.
They didn’t appear to have modernized at all in the last ten years, but one smart former employee has cashed in on the enormous wealth of emotion still felt for the missing high street giant. (You wouldn’t forget the pick ‘n’ mix now would you?)
It works brilliantly as a one-off, but I’d be surprised if we started seeing them popping up all over the place, despite an obvious demand for ‘cheap ‘n’ cheerful’ convenience stores. You’d be battling Tesco’s without the bargaining power.
