Saw this last night featured on Wired and thought you might all be interested.
This week Volkswagen placed an AUDIO advertisement within The Times of India newspaper, which began to play as soon as readers unfolded it!
Essentially Volkswagen paid the publication to fit an audio chip inside the pages that played in an endless loop until you closed the paper. For power, the chip appears to have incorporated a photodiode, a photo detector that converts light into current or voltage.
A very clever publicity stunt on Volkswagen’s part, which uniquely if not a little weirdly, challenges people’s expectations of what particular media types can deliver!!
