At Leo Burnett, we′re proud to offer the chance for up to four grads to join us as trainee Account Handlers. We′re also looking for two grads to join us as trainee Planners, with no previous professional work experience required. These opportunities are pretty hard to come by as most Agencies hire Planners who have worked in another advertising department, or another industry with related skills, before.

Alongside intensive on-the-job training, they work on live briefs from clients across the Leo Burnett Group, learn their craft from the best in the business and provide new perspectives on every aspect of the agency process, from business problem to creative solution. This is a programme dedicated to developing the industry’s stars of tomorrow.

The Leo Burnett Group comprises Leo Burnett (Advertising), Atelier (luxury style specialists) and its brand activation partners Arc (retail and promotions), Lime (experiential) and Leo Sports (sports sponsorship consultancy). It’s really important to us that these disciplines live together and work together to create genuinely behaviour changing marketing.
What it’s all about – creating great work for our Clients:
The type of work that we do best is something that we call Imaginative Populism. It’s all about creating marketing for real people and doing it with a creativity and charisma that captures the imagination of the public. We may have produced the second most-awarded advertisement in the world in 2009 for Shelter ‘House of Cards’ but the thing that still makes us most proud is when a cabbie says how much he likes our ads.
There are plenty of ways to get involved in the Agency. The Core, is our cultural project group made up of people throughout the agency. They arrange the social side of things, whether that’s a summer party, an impromptu BBQ or the chance to win some theatre tickets. There’s also Leo Love, where you can use your talent and passion to help with a local community project and a variety of weekly news and views updates to keep you current with interesting things going on in the world and the industry. It’s no wonder that we’re the only creative agency in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For 2010 (see article below).
A little bit of our history…
We may have celebrated 75 years of Leo Burnett earlier this year, but just because the man himself is long gone, he is certainly not forgotten. Plenty of symbols in agency life cannot fail to remind you of our founding father – from the big, black pencils he used to use, to the apples that still sit in reception – but it is his belief in people and ideas that exists most strongly as part of our ethos today.
